The Problem
Just Solutions, a BIPOC-led National climate organization, launched its website in 2021. They were growing so fast that by 2022, the website couldn’t keep pace with their growth.
Just Solutions had many articles, solution papers, and policies on their website that were difficult to explore. Their site was not connected to their social media, newsletter or Podcast so their digital presence was fragmented and they couldn’t connect with and expand their audiences.

The Solution
Just Solutions asked us to design and build a new website that would make it easy for BIPOC-frontline environmental justice practitioners to access and engage with their analyses and policy research. We needed to conduct a robust website overhaul process, designing a new site map and user experience.
Tactics
Created site map and designed new user experience (UX) to make a more accessible website for Just Solutions.
Built library system with tags and categories to organize solutions, articles, videos, and podcasts. Linked individual Staff and Board pages to their authored solutions.
Moved existing historical content from old site to new site. Set up infrastructure to forward dead links from existing site to new site.
Created an analytics measurement plan and installed Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 in order to measure key data from website users and sessions.
Launched a search engine optimized WordPress website with page templates for homepage, library pages, staff pages, and internal pages. Custom CSS and HTML.
Trained client communications team on how to update and edit website elements and pages, write effective ALT text, and use Google Analytics.
Results
Redirected over 160 outdated URLs to new, live pages most relevant to old page content using 301 directory.
Fixed over 15 dead links embedded within live pages, and updated to relevant content.
Developed system of tags and categories for searchable library that links solutions, articles, and staff pages together.
Launched redesigned website at new URL with new UX, eight new pages, and a robust measurement infrastructure.
